Ensiferum-wanderer
Ensiferum取名于拉丁语（英译：The Sword-wearing），
是一支来自芬兰的旋律死亡金属/维京金属乐队。
他们完美的将传统的民谣与中世纪旋律融合在重金属里，
创造了一个独一无二的Ensiferum神话。
Ensiferum成立于1995至96年间，
成员有Markus Toivonen (吉他),
Sauli Savolainen (低音吉他)和Kimmo Miettinen (鼓手)。
1996年，Jari Maenpaa作为吉他手和主唱加入乐队。
他们当时的曲风受到了民谣以及Amorphis，
Dark Tranquility等这类旋律死亡金属乐队的影响。

1996年一月，Enisferum在赫尔辛基的Pasila青年中心开始了他们的排练。
他们的前乐队Dark Reflections曾在此地进行过预演。
Markus从1995年开始创作，1996年创作完成，
曲目包括Knighthood、Old Man (Väinämöinen)、Frost。
同年，老马请当时还是Immemorial成员的
经验丰富的solo表演家Jari Mäenpää加入他们的乐团，
担任主唱和辅音吉他手。
Jari带来了非常成熟的表演技巧和卓越的音乐理念。
从此这个乐团再不是只有三人重唱，而变成货真价实的四人实力乐团。
Jari是位优秀的词作者，他为Old Man做了新词。
另外的两首歌，Markus写的Knighthood和Sauli写的Frost也亟需重新作词。
1996年12月，Ensiferum在Pasila青年中心举行了他们的第一场演唱会，
讽刺的是，他们只演唱了唯一填完词的一首歌——Old Man。

01年春天，录音师Tuomo Valtonen在工作室混录了这张首发专辑。
Tuomo Valtonen的风格一向大胆，敢为人先。
与此同时，Ensiferum的团队中加入了新的键盘手——Meiju Enho。[!--empirenews.page--]
乐队成员变为五人。专辑在7月首发，引起了巨大的反响。
2005年是Ensiferum建队十周年，
仲夏时节，Ensiferum在乐队建立者Markus的组织下举办了一场
十周年庆祝演出，规模不大但反响较为热烈，
该场演出中乐队演奏了如《Hero in the dream》、
《windrider》、《Old Man》等经典曲目
2007年
07年对于Ensiferum来说是复兴的一年，
他们的新专辑《Victory Songs》出版后获得较大销量广受好评
2007年至今，Ensiferum仍然在欧洲各地参加举办各地演出同时也在准备新专辑

前主唱兼吉他手Jari可以说是Ensiferum的元老之一，
他的fans们认为前Ensiferum基本是以他为中心的
关于他的离开让很多人十分吃惊，
他本人并没有交代清楚原因但最近综合乐迷、
论坛等基本上可以确定是当初Jari建立了Wintersun
后来他发现他无法兼顾两头必须在Ensiferum和Wintersun中选择一个，
于是他选择了去Wintersun继续他的创作，
我们相信他与前乐队成员的关系依然良好并不是有些地方所说的矛盾出走。
